Chapter 1
It was a dark and stormy night when I arrived at Blackthorn Manor. The wind howled outside, rattling the windows and making the old house creak and groan. I stood on the doorstep, clutching my bag tightly, wondering if I had made a terrible mistake.
But there was no turning back now. I had nowhere else to go, no one else to turn to. My aunt had kicked me out, and I was left with only two silver coins in my purse. Becoming a nanny for a werewolf lord"s child seemed like my only option.
I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. It swung open with a loud creak, revealing a tall, imposing figure standing in the doorway. His eyes glinted in the dim light, and I couldn"t help but feel a shiver run down my spine.
"Ah, you must be the new nanny," he said in a deep, rumbling voice. "Come in, child. We have much to discuss."
I followed him into the grand entrance hall, my footsteps echoing on the marble floor. The house was cold and drafty, with tapestries hanging on the walls and flickering candles casting eerie shadows.
The werewolf lord led me to a cozy sitting room, where a small boy was playing with wooden blocks on the floor. He looked up as we entered, his eyes wide with curiosity.
"Say hello to your new nanny, Lucas," the lord said, ruffling the boy"s hair. "Her name is Elara."
I smiled warmly at the boy, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in my stomach. This was going to be a lot more complicated than I had thought.
And so, my new life as a nanny to a werewolf lord"s son began. Little did I know that it would lead me down a path filled with danger, magic, and, against all odds, love.
